Summer Holiday Beauty Products

To be honest, I usually don't like to wear much makeup on holiday anyway and use as little skin care products as possible to give the skin a break. But since I spent my summer holiday at the Baltic Sea I especially didn't feel the need to slather foundation and eyeshadow on my face. Instead, I let my skin breathe in the salty fresh air in contrast to the pollution of Berlin where I stayed the days before. I really enjoyed those days where morning routines just took 5 minutes but I think there's a mental aspect to it, too.
The first day I felt self concious, having a stroll at the seafront, wondering what everyone must be thinking. But I realized quickly that literally nobody but me cared. And frankly, it's not like I looked horrific, I just had forgotten how to appreciate and love my apperance without any enhancement. But within a few days I noticed how my perception of myself had changed. I no longer focused on little blemishes when I looked in the mirror. Instead I saw sparkeling eyes and smiling lips.
So these are all products I used throughout my stay at the sea:

This lovely BB Cream is great for a quick pick-me-up for dry/normal skin. It smoothes out the complexion, hydrates the skin and protects with an SPF 10. This basically replaced my moisturizer and worked wonders to my skin.

There's nothing much to say since I already wrote about this miraculously quick cleanser and makeup remover but I can assure you that I still love it!

After cleansing I massaged a mixture of rose, carrot and almond oil into the skin to strengthen, nourish and enhance the complexion. (This is a nice video if you'd like to dip into fascial massage.)

What is your holiday beauty regime?

rediscovered #1

After reading a few chapters of Marie Kondo's Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up (yes I know I am very late with jumping on this bandwagon! And still haven't finished it) I finally decided to declutter my stationary and make-up drawers and found this: the Essence Longlasting Lipstick in 01 Coral Calling.
I can't remember if I've ever worn it, I must have somehow forgotten about it but I swatched it and it really is such a beautiful colour especially if you fancy a bit of spring feeling which I am desperate for at the moment as it's snowing whilst I'm typing this. The shade which can easily describe as a, you guessed it, coral is pretty sheer at the first application but can be easily built up. The finish is rather glossy and therefore the staying power isn't the gratest but because the lipstick feels very hydration on the lips I don't mind reapplying and considering the little price that's something I am okay with.
Have you tried any lipsticks of this range? Did you like them?

A new year

2016. A new year, a new start.
But really? Do we really believe to start 'fresh' only because everyone says so? Why does a change of date suggest a change of us? I think we see the new year as a chance for change to become how we want to be and the best we can be because we, lazy as we are, didn't do so before when there was no one who showed us his New Years Resolutions so we didn't feel like we might want to do the same and overcome our weaker self like he or she is.
So, to inspire you and to make me remember my resolutions, here are my New Year's Resolutions for 2016 (Well, I guess that's not how I should put it. It's more like a mantra that I'd like to follow).

"DARE TO".
Dare to say yes more often.
Dare to be kind.
Dare to be who you want to be.
Dare to be confident.
Dare to take time (for yourself, for others, to practice yoga, to improve, ...).
Dare to do it.
Dare to live the moment.

What are your resolutions?

Evening Skincare VOL.1

Hi everyone, long time no see.
I'm very sorry that there haven't been any posts lately but the past days were just so packet that I wasn't able to take photos and write (hens I'm typing this at 1:30 am).
But today I'd like to show you two products I recently have been loving in my evening skincare routine. So first I use a good few drops of the La Roche-Posay Micellar Water on a cotton pad to remove eye makeup, with the remaining product I go over lips, brows and the rest of the face which leaves it super soft and hydrated (not with a tight feeling like some other micellar waters did). Then I take some of Body Shop's Camomile Cleansing Butter, rub it between my hands and massage it into the dry skin for at least a good minute. After that I rinse it off with lukewarm water and pat my face dry. I think that this balm really does a great job at melting away makeup and impurities, as well as moisturising at the same time which is even more important now when the weather is getting cold and autumnal.

Have you tried any of these products and if so, what do you think about them?

Love, Caroline
